We also teach them the Safe Swimming Guide..We demonstrate the wearing of Lifejackets and Buoyancy Aids, how to get help if the find someone in trouble in the water, at the seaside or near cliffs..We also demonstrate the equipment that the Coast Guard wear and use in different areas of operations..The children are then brought into the schoolyard where we show them one of our Coast Guard Boats and all Life Saving Equipment on board..Last year we visited thirty schools reaching approx. three thousand children..We wish everyone a warm and happy summer..Enjoy our local waterways and coast, always read signs, stay alert and beware of any dangers..If you see any one in difficulty in our local Rivers, Lakes or along our Coast, Call 112 or 999 and ask for the Coast Guard...Dermot Mc Connoran .Area Officer .Drogheda Coast Guard...
